2018 Bluebonnet Trails Workshop
A One Day Workshop That Explores the Bluebonnet Trails In Ennis, TX.
April 14,2018
It is spring time and the Texas wildflowers are blooming. On April 14, 2018, beginning at 6:15 am, we will travel the back roads of Ennis, Texas photographing wildflowers along the Ennis Bluebonnet Trail. This is almost 50 miles of green pastures, Texas longhorns, horses, and of course Bluebonnets and Indian Paint Brushes. If Mother Nature is kind to us there will be puffy white clouds and a blue sky. A bonus is that the Dallas Bike Club will be riding the Bluebonnet Trails on the 14th. Providing an opportunity to catch bike riders with a back drop of wildflowers. Optional night time shoot of the night sky and the Milky Way.
We will meet at 6:15 am in the lobby of the La Quinta Inn and Suites located at 110 S Sonoma Trail, Ennis, TX 75119. From there we will depart for our sunrise location around 6:30 am. Once on location we will get set up and be ready to shoot when the sun raises. We will continue on to several locations to catch the early morning light. Make sure you pack a polarizer and graduated filter. Also, if you have one bring a small reflector. Add a flash to your kit allowing you to add fill light to your images. You really only need to bring three lenses, a wide-angle lens, a 24-105mm, and a 70-200mm zoom lenses. You may want to bring or rent a macro lens for those really close images.
There is a big bonus this year. The Greater Dallas Bike Club will hold their annual Lancaster Country Ride on the 14th. The riders travel the back roads of Ennis County. The course will take the riders along the Bluebonnet Trails.
